OCA - About Us
OCA - About Us
Our Mission:
Working together, to provide recreational, social, and educational opportunities to enrich the lives of all members of our community.
The Orton Community Association is entirely run by volunteers from Orton and the surrounding neighborhood. Over 100 volunteers assist the OCA in running our events and maintaining our facilities.
Orton is a hamlet in southwestern Ontario, about 100 km northwest of Toronto. There are approximately 200 residents of Orton, in both the Town of Erin and Township of East Garafraxa. Orton is roughly equidistant from the towns of Fergus, Orangville, Erin, Grand Valley, Acton and Rockwood.
OCA events are attended by not only residents of Orton and the surrounding rural area, but also residents from a wide area of Wellington and Dufferin counties.
For a small community, we have an incredibly active calendar of events, with over 200 events held per year.
Most of our programs and events are free to attend.
Our beautiful and historic Orton Community Hall (formerly St. John's United Chuch) is the hub of the community.
Through our partnership with the Township of East Garafraxa we are also privileged to enjoy the use of the adjacent community facilities including our pavillion, playground, and baseball diamond. Our covered pavillion serves as our popular outdoor ice rink.
We are a non-profit organization and a registered charity.
